Sarasota - City of the Arts

A unique blend of beaches and culture.

Sarasota has been a mecca for the arts since the Roaring 20's when legendary circus impresario John Ringling and his wife Mable helped establish the seaside resort town as a high society destination offering a unique blend of beaches, culture and gala nightlife.

To this day, world-class visual and performing arts venues, events, and festivals draw aficionados from around the world. Fine and contemporary art is on display in dozens of studio, galleries, and museums, including the world's largest collection of Rubens at the Ringling Museum of Art.

Sarasota's renowned architecture includes everything from mid-century modern to the Mediterranean Revival of the Ringling's famous Ca'd'Zan mansion and circus museum.

International caliber ballet, symphony, opera, theater and film can be enjoyed at venues ranging from the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and historic Asolo Repertory Theatre to the contemporary Florida Studio Theatre and Burns Court Cinema just a short stroll from the Mark.
